This course has been developed for those who are working with children or babies. It will be of particular importance to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup Personnel and anyone responsible for youth organisations we recommend the 12 hour or 2 day Paediatric first aid course.
This course gives the Learner the necessary knowledge to arrange equipment and call for the Emergency Services when required. Other responsibilities include looking after any equipment and facilities at the time.
There is no learner assessment , although there will be a continuous evaluation throughout the course all those deemed to have reached the required standard will be issued with a certificate in Emergency First Aid for Children and Babies which is valid for 3 years.
A maximum of 16 Learners can be accommodated on this course and must be aged 16 and above to receive a Certificate anyone below this age will receive a Certificate of attendance.

- Basic Life Support Child & Baby

- Wounds and Bleeding
- Medical Emergencies
- Head Injuries
- Burns & Scalds
- First Aid Provision
There is either a 6 or 12 hour course (depending on your Health and Safety requirements) all courses are taught using accelerated learning techniques which helps the Learner to retain the information. Those attending the 6 hour course should be used to assist the Paediatric First Aider NOT instead of!
The Early Years Foundation Stage has set out the recommendations as to which course is the ideal for your First Aid provision as a rule if you work with Under “5″s you should attend the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course.
