NDFA Training is committed to highlighting workplace / Sporting or Community deaths due to Cardiac Arrest on our First Aid courses. To give someone the best chance of surviving a Cardiac arrest is Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR.
This is a short course in Basic Life Support (B.LS) the aim of the course is to enable all learners to deal with an unconscious casualty who is breathing and an unconscious casualty who is not breathing or not breathing normally.
Course Syllabus:
- Roles & Resposibilities of a First Aider
- Assessment of an incident
- Management of an unresponsive casualty Breathing normally
- Management of an unresponsive casualty not Breathing normally (Adult & Child)
- Introduction to a Defibrillator or A.E.D
This course gives the Learner the necessary knowledge to arrange equipment and call for the Emergency Services when required. This is a 3 hour course consists of theory and skill stations. This training gives the learner how to manage and Adult & Child should they go unconscious and may require C.P.R.
Learners are required to be able manage effective compression and mouth to mouth on a manikin to attain a competence in CPR.
